“We
need to be willing to let our intuition guide us and then be
willing to
follow
that guidance directly and fearlessly.” -Shakti
Gawain-
How many times have you
heard that little voice deep inside say “do
it” or don’t do it,”
And you did the opposite
because your logical mind told you to?
How often were the results of listening to your
logical mind less than favorable?
Or how many times have you been grateful to your
“higher power” for listening to that little voice?
That little voice,
also known as our sixth sense or intuition can guide us to
greatness if only we will listen.
One such person is Albert Einstein. He believed in
listening to his little voice.
His intuition may have been what guided
his very genius.
He once said, “No problem can be solved from the
same conciousness that created it.
We must learn to see the world anew.”
He practiced the skill of listening to his intuition
to such an extent to become known the world over as one of
the most intelligent men who ever lived.
We were all born with
intuition. In fact, it is always ready to feed information
to our conscious minds. The real skill comes in learning to
apply it to your lives.
Our intuition helps us to see possibilities we may
have overlooked in our logical thought processes.
Intuition is like a muscle of the mind.
The more you use it, the stronger it gets.
Four ways to exercise
your intuition:
1. Get out of your
own way! Notice how you are feeling.
Pay attention to what you are noticing.
Use all five of your other senses.
Make a note of everything
you noticed. What
did you notice going on inside you?
Around you? Let yourself
hear that little voice as you savor the
experience of noticing your internal and external
environment.
2. Let your
conciousness do it’s job! With
pen in hand, write down three questions (any three
questions, the first three that come to mind) numbering them
1, 2, and 3. These
questions could be challenges you are trying to solve.
Don’t try to find the answers to the questions. The
seed these questions plant will lead your subconscious into
engaging in finding the answers via intuitive
impressions or subtle hints to your conscious mind.
3. Notice the subtle
“hints.” Often
times we don’t recognize these hints or messages because
they don’t make logical sense.
Stop and notice what you are sensing.
Breathe. Breathe
deeply, concentrating only on the breaths you take.
Allow the sense to take you where it wants to go.
Do this for several minutes.
Write down what you experienced.
4. Go back to the
questions you wrote down in Step Two.
Imagine that those subtle hints you experienced were
the answer to one of the questions.
The answers could have come in symbolic form or they
could be clear and direct.
With practice, you will be able to recognize and
interpret the meanings of those symbols.
If the symbolism is “fuzzy” perhaps you will need
to restate the questions in clearer language.
Perhaps they are not the questions your subconscious
needs to answer right now.
Listen to the answers and you will discover the
questions.
When you learn to exercise
you intuition you will make better decisions.
You will learn to let go, eliminating worry and
reduce the stress in your life. You will have more fun,
become more spontaneous, meet new people and really
experience life more fully.
Isn’t it time to make your intuition your best
friend?
